The GR OG 003 C1 Computer Glasses from Gamma Ray Optics arrive in a strong white 2 part box made from cardboard with the Gamma Ray logo printed in black on top, the sides are printed with 'Limitless Eyewear'.
Opening up the box you have the black Gamma Ray glasses case with the logo imprinted on top. A closer look at the case revels it has a cloth texture to it.
Inside are the glasses and a cloth, with more Gamma Ray branding on the inside of the glasses case lid in a silver color. The glasses come with a plastic sleeve to protect from scratches during transit.
The cleaning cloth comes in a light grey color measuring 14.5 x 14.5 cm with the Gamma Ray logo embedded into the bottom right.
The glasses come with a very prominent yet non-distractive amber tinted lens made from CR39 Resin with a scratch resistant coating, making them ready for day to day use and wear. They fold closed to a comfortable 35mm causing almost no bulk in a pocket.
The hinges are constructed from metal glued in place to the flexible plastic frame and temple pieces. The hinges open out to roughly 90 degrees from the frame with no spring, which is acceptable due to the flexible memory polymer the frame and both temples are made from.
As you can see here there is a difference when wearing the glasses. Amber tinted glasses have been known to decrease eye-strain, increase contrast and decrease harsh blue wavelengths of light, which is exactly what these glasses do. When wearing these everything is much sharper and warmer, while the tint isn't too yellow/amber and after a few seconds you forget about the tint entirely from your vision, while keeping the benefits.
The right hand side temple is marked with the material the frame and temples are made from (Memory Polymer) and the Gamma Ray Optics branding.
On the left temple is the glasses model number (GR 003 C1) and the frame specifications (53 16 140) the first number (53) being the lens width, (16) being the nose bridge size and the last (140) being the temple length, all measurements are in mm.
Placed in front of a white light, you can see the blue portion of the light spectrum (including UV) is reflected back off the amber tinted lenses leaving the rest of the light spectrum intact.
The GR 003 C1 model glasses from Gamma Ray Optics sure are a must have piece of eye-wear, comfort, quality, the advantaged that come along with them and there great price leave no excuse.
